    Hi

To set a default image, right-click on the image you want to be the default and select “Add to Default”.

When you click on any Database item in the Database tab, whatever is shown in the “Manage Databases” will be default. When you select a Bible passage in the Bibles tab, whatever is shown shown in the “Manage Bibles” will be the default. The Database/Bibles items you clicked on will then be combined with the settings from the current selected schedule and you don’t have to add the items to the schedule.

Hope the above answers your query!

    Hi

Default settings for each item (apart from infoscreens) are combined from the database and from the schedule.

    In Manage Database settings:
The font type, size and styles, headings and layout margins are set. Each database has its own settings and the reason for this is that, as an example, a database could contains only Chinese lyrics and the Chinese fonts are best displayed in a certain font/way than compared to a database with only English lyrics.

    In Manage Schedule:
Show Headings, shadow, outline, colour fonts styles are set, along with backgrounds and the data panel settings. Each schedule therefore defines the way you want a service run, ie. all display fonts have outlines and the same colour backgrounds, etc.

So if you want all your items to look similar, set the default in the database first, and then set appropriate settings in your schedule. Any new items (apart from infoscreens) added to your schedule will have the same default settings as in the schedule, plus whatever was set in the database they came from.

Note that if you click a item on the database and set individual settings – those settings for that item will be saved in the database and will override the default database settings You can clear all individual settings in all the databases by Tools->Clear all formatting in the database. However, if you add the item to a schedule and click the item on the schedule and set individual settings – those settings are only saved in the schedule and not in the database.

There is actually no default template, though you can copy a schedule to become a template and apply it individually.

    Hope the above helps.

Hi, when you upgrade from es4 to es5 all the formatting should have been retained. However, the layout might be slightly different as es4 was 4:3 screen ratio and es5 will convert to the new ratio of your live screen. There is also a formatting bug in 5.0.0 when displaying an item without individual formatting – this will be fixed in v5.0.1.

    hi bernluk

    1. Live feed – I am not sure where the issue is. I have tried various settings and did a number of tests on my system with two different webcams and they all work fine. Could you try showing an item with a video background to see if it works? If you have a laptop with built in webcam could you try easyslides 5 on it to see if it works – if so, try connecting your usb webcam to it to test.

To reset settings, delete/rename the Easyslidesdata folder, uninstall and then re-install easyslides 5. Easyslides 5 will ask if you wish to convert or create a blank Easyslidesdata – you can choose either.

    2. Transparent background – There are some colour bleeding under certain circumstances. It can’t be fixed as it is .NET related. However, you can change your chroma colour to something like RGB (14,14,14) which is dark and so when text overlays on top, the colour bleed should be largely eliminated.

    3. Keyboard shortcut – You must be using single monitor mode because it is not possible to navigate in dual monitor from the live screen. Navigation is not replicated by design since you are using a single monitor. However, your issue raised a good point for systems which may use other monitors as confidence monitor instead of dual screen. Therefore, I have added the feature to the next version 5.0.1 so that navigation is replicated to the confidence monitor in single monitor mode. Hope this will help.

Hi bernluk, thanks for the feedback. Regarding your queries, assuming you are using v5.0.0:-

1 Live feed – make sure in the settings, the correct webcam is selected. To start live feed you will need to click LIVE and then click the camcorder icon at the easyslides main window. Camcorder only works on Live screen/projector, not to any other monitors.

    2. Transparent background – All the confidence monitors allow you to select a background colour. So if you want a transparent background, select an appropriate chroma green colour (eg. RGB 0, 177, 64) background for your confidence monitor. The output of the confidence monitor goes to your OBS input. In OBS ensure your chroma key matches your chroma green background. That should give you your text over transparent screen output.

    3. keyboard shortcut – In dual monitor mode, confidence monitor will move through the slides in sync with the live output.

It could be related the settings file. Try the following:-

    – Exit out of Easyslides
    – In the EasyslidesData folder navigate to \Admin\UserProfiles
    – Delete the XML file(s) in that folder.
    – Restart Easyslides.

If possible, before you delete the profile, could you email me the profile XML document to do some tests?

    Thanks

    Hi Jim

Display Panel Settings – When you load a template, the display panel settings will be copied as well. As per your suggestion, I will also add the default Display Panel Settings to the Manage Schedules form for the next update.

<#> symbol – Yes the indicator was removed from Beta 3 onwards to improve the startup speed of ES5. I will do some tests to see if the indicator can be added back in without affecting the startup speed too much.

Media Issue – There was an issue when the worship lists of ES4 was converted to ES5 for items with media links. This will be sorted in in the next update. You can create new schedules which won’t get the error.

    Hi Jim

Thank you for your very encouraging words!!

There is no default template settings but you can achieve something similar by creating a new schedule based on a current schedule which has the settings you want. To do this:
    – Manage Schedules
    – select the schedule which has the settings you want
    – click “Copy To”
    – enter the name for the new schedule and click save
    – click apply
    – The new schedule will have all the settings based on the schedule you had copied from.

In the Manage Schedules, the Load & Save templates is to allow you to Load settings from a template and apply to the current selected schedule. So in Manage schedule, select a schedule, then load a template will apply the settings from the loaded template to the selected schedule. However, there appears to be a bug which is preventing it from working fully. I will fix that in the next update. The “saved as” option is to save the current schedule settings to a template file which you can then use to apply to a schedule.

I will explore the option to add a a “stretch” option for images so that a image can be stretched to fill a screen without keeping the aspect ratio.

    Hi tonniwei

Sorry to hear about your installation issue. It could be corrupt info in the settings file.

    Try the following:-
    – Exit out of Easyslides
    – In the EasyslidesData folder navigate to \Admin\UserProfiles
    – Delete the XML file(s) in that folder – before deleting, could you make a copy and email to me?
    – Go also to \Admin\Schedules
    – Delete all the files in it – before deleting, could you make copies and email to me?
    – Restart Easyslides

Send the copies to me at info@easyslides.com so that I can check for issues in them for future fixes.

Let me know how you get on.

    Hi mrzanussi

You must be running beta 7 or earlier. With beta 8 onwards there was an internal renaming of the versions and hence you get that error message.

Please go ahead and uninstall your beta version, and then install the final release version. You won’t lose any data.
