Import SongSelect Lyrics

Import SongSelect Lyrics (v5.1+)

Easyslides can import SongSelect lyrics text files download from the SongSelect website. Please note that SongSelect chords layout is not supported.

Method 1 – Import SongSelect lyrics text files

  1. At the SongSelect website, for each of the lyrics you want, select the download option to download as a text file.
  2. Place all your downloaded text files into one Windows folder.
  3. For v5.1: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import.
  4. For v5.2+: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import Databases and Files.
  5. When the Import window appears, select the tab “Import Multiple Files”.
  6. Click the folder icon at ‘1’, locate and select the Windows folder which contains the downloaded files you wish to import.
  7. At ‘2’, select the database you wish to import the items into.
  8. Click Import.
  9. You will be informed if the import is successful. Note the imported database name and navigate to it when you exit out of import

Method 2 – Use editor and paste the lyrics

  1. At the SongSelect website, find the lyrics you want and when it is displayed on screen, select all the contents and copy the text (right mouse->copy).
  2. In easyslides 5 menu, click the button to create a new database item.
  3. When the Editor opens, paste in the copied contents into region 1.
  4. From the Editor Toolbar at the top of the editor window, click the SongSelect button (the button with the letter “S” to the left of the Font Name selection box).
  5. The contents in region 1 will be converted to Easyslides format.  The title, author and copyright fields will also be filled with the relevant data.
  6. Click Save to save the lyrics ,and repeat from Step 1 above for another lyrics.

Import Plain Lyrics Text Files

Import Lyrics in Text or Word Files (v5.1+)

If you have typed up lyrics in text files, or in Word documents using the SongSelect lyrics format, you can import those files into easyslides

  1. Ensure each file contains just one song lyrics using the following format:-
    • First line (optional): title, followed by a bank line. If there is no blank line after the title line, easyslides will assume the first line is part of the contents. If there is no title, the filename will be used as the title.
    • Use the following keywords for headings, followed by their contents:
      • Verse 1, Verse 2, etc.
      • Chorus, Chorus 2,
      • Pre-Chorus, Pre-Chorus 2,
      • Bridge, Bridge 2,
      • Ending,
      • Intro,
      • Tag
  2. Place all your files into one Windows folder.
  3. For v5.1: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import.
  4. For v5.2+: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import Databases and Files.
  5. When the Import window appears, select the tab “Import Multiple Files”.
  6. Click the folder icon at ‘1’, locate and select the Windows folder which contains the files you wish to import.
  7. At ‘2’, select the database you wish to import the items into.
  8. Click Import.
  9. You will be informed if the import is successful. Note the imported database name and navigate to it when you exit out of import

 

Import Opensong Lyrics

Import Opensong Lyrics (v5.1+)

Method 1 – If Opensong is installed on the same PC as Easyslides 5

  1. Opensong stores lyrics as individual files in the folder: Documents\opensong\Songs
  2. Note the location of the above Opensong folder.
  3. For v5.1: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import.
  4. For v5.2+: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import Databases and Files.
  5. When the Import window appears, select the tab “Import Multiple Files”.
  6. Click the folder icon at ‘1’, locate and select the ‘Documents\opensong\Songs’ folder you had noted at Step 2 above.
  7. At ‘2’, select your destination database.
  8. Click Import.
  9. You will be informed if the Opensong import is successful. Note the imported database name and navigate to it when you quit out of import.

Method 2 – If Opensong is installed on another PC

  1. At the PC where Opensong is installed on. Navigate to the folder: Documents\opensong\
  2. You will see a folder called ‘Song’. Right click on that folder and select Send To->Compressed (zipped) folder.
  3. A file called ‘Songs’ (.zip) will be created.
  4. Copy the Songs.zip file to the PC where easyslides is installed on.
  5. For v5.1: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import.
  6. For v5.2+: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import Databases and Files.
  7. When the Import window appears, select the tab “Import a File”.
  8. Click the folder icon at ‘1’ and navigate to the Songs.zip file you had copied from the Opensong PC at Step 4 above.
  9. At ‘2’, a ‘Songs’ folder will be listed, along with the number of available lyrics – ensure the checkbox is ticked.
  10. At ‘3’, select the database you wish to import the Opensong lyrics into.
  11. At ‘4’, select your Overwrite option.
  12. Click Import.
  13. You will be informed if the import is successful. Note the imported database name and navigate to it when you exit out of import.

Method 3 – If you have obtained a zip file with Opensong lyrics in it

Note: You can also visit the WorshipLeaderApp website and download Opensong 7-zip files for import into easyslides.

  1. Copy the Opensong zip file to the PC where easyslides is installed on.
  2. For v5.1: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import.
  3. For v5.2+: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import Databases and Files.
  4. When the Import window appears, select the tab “Import a File”.
  5. Click the folder icon at ‘1’ and navigate to the Opensong zip file you had copied in at step 1 above.
  6. At ‘2’, a folder name will be listed (it doesn’t matter what the name is), along with the number of available lyrics – ensure the checkbox is ticked.
  7. At ‘3’, select the database you wish to import the Opensong lyrics into.
  8. At ‘4’, select your Overwrite option.
  9. Click Import.
  10. You will be informed if the import is successful. Note the imported database name and navigate to it when you exit out of import.

Import OpenLP Lyrics

Import OpenLP Lyrics (v5.1+)

Method 1 – If OpenLP is installed on the same PC as Easyslides 5

  1. Start OpenLP on your PC.
  2. Select from OpenLP main menu->Tools->Open Data Folder.
  3. When the data folder opens, make a note of the path to the ‘songs’ folder.
  4. Close OpenLP.
  5. For v5.1: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import.
  6. For v5.2+: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import Databases and Files.
  7. When the Import window appears, select the tab “Import a File”.
  8. Click the folder icon at ‘1’ and navigate to the ‘songs’ folder path you noted at step 3.
  9. You will see a file named ‘songs.sqlite’. Select that file.
  10. At ‘2’, a ‘songs’ folder’ will be listed, along with the number of available lyrics – ensure the checkbox is ticked.
  11. At ‘3’, select your destination database.
  12. At ‘4’, select your Overwrite option.
  13. Click Import.
  14. You will be informed if the OpenLP import is successful. Note the imported database name and navigate to it when you quit out of import.

Method 2 – If OpenLP is installed on another PC

  1. At the PC where OpensLP is installed on, Start OpenLP at that PC.
  2. Select from OpenLP main menu->Tools->Open Data Folder.
  3. When the data folder opens, navigate to the ‘songs’ folder.
  4. In that ‘songs folder’, you will see a file named ‘songs.sqlite’ – copy that file to the PC where easyslides is installed on.
  5. For v5.1: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import.
  6. For v5.2+: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import Databases and Files.
  7. When the Import window appears, select the tab “Import a File”.
  8. Click the folder icon at ‘1’ and navigate to the songs.sqlite file you had copied from the OpenLP PC at Step 4 above.
  9. At ‘2’, a folder name will be listed (it doesn’t matter what the name is), along with the number of available lyrics – ensure the checkbox is ticked.
  10. At ‘3’, select the database you wish to import the OpenLP lyrics into.
  11. At ‘4’, select your Overwrite option.
  12. Click Import.
  13. You will be informed if the import is successful. Note the imported database name and navigate to it when you exit out of import.

Method 3 – If you have obtained a OpenLP database file

Note: You can also visit the WorshipLeaderApp website and download OpenLP v3 sqlite database files for import into easyslides.

  1. Copy the OpenLP database file to the PC where easyslides is installed on.
  2. For v5.1: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import.
  3. For v5.2+: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import Databases and Files.
  4. When the Import window appears, select the tab “Import a File”.
  5. Click the folder icon at ‘1’ and navigate to the OpenLP database file you had copied in at step 1 above.
  6. At ‘2’, a folder name will be listed (it doesn’t matter what the name is), along with the number of available lyrics – ensure the checkbox is ticked.
  7. At ‘3’, select the database you wish to import the OpenLP lyrics into.
  8. At ‘4’, select your Overwrite option.
  9. Click Import.
  10. You will be informed if the import is successful. Note the imported database name and navigate to it when you exit out of import.

Import Lyrics

Easyslides 5 is preloaded with public domain lyrics which means you can start using easyslides right away.  With v5.1 you can also be able to import Opensong, OpenLP and SongSelect Lyrics text sheets into easyslides.

There are three ways to import lyrics into Easyslides 5:-

Method 1 – Download Easyslides-supplied Lyrics (v5.0.1+)

  1. For v5.0.1: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import Online Database->Easyslides Online.
  2. For v5.1: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import. When the Import window appears, select the tab ‘Online’.
  3. For v5.2+: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import Databases and Files. When the Import window appears, select the tab ‘Online’.
  4. Easyslides will connect to easyslides.com and list all lyrics supplied by easyslides.
  5. From the list, click on the lyrics pack you wish to import.
  6. You will be informed if the import is successful.

Method 2 – Download Third Party Online Lyrics (v5.1+)

  1. For v5.1: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import. When the Import window appears, select the tab ‘Others Online’.
  2. For v5.2+: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import Databases and Files. When the Import window appears, select the tab ‘Others Online’.
  3. Easyslides will connect to easyslides.com and list some commonly lyrics located at other third-party websites.
  4. From the list, click on the lyrics pack you wish to import.
  5. You will be informed if the import is successful.
  6. Please note that the listed Lyrics are not provided by easyslides.com and the links are listed for your convenience.

Method 3 – Import Lyrics on your local drive into Easyslides (v5.1+)

If you have lyrics files such OpenLP sqlite database file, Opensong zipped files, SongSelect lyrics text files or similar SongSelect-format text files, you can easily import them into easyslides.

If you have one file, or a database file:

  1. For v5.1: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import. When the Import window appears, select the tab ‘Import a File’.
  2. For v5.2+: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import Databases and Files. When the Import window appears, select the tab ‘Import a File’.
  3. Click the folder icon at ‘1’ to select the lyrics file you wish to import.
  4. If the file is a easyslides-recognised import file, a list of folder(s) will be displayed at ‘2’.
  5. At ‘2’, ensure the folder(s) you wish to import are ticked.
  6. At ‘3’, select the database you wish to import the new lyrics into.
  7. At ‘4’, select you Overwrite option.
  8. Click Import.
  9. You will be informed if the import is successful. Note the imported database name and navigate to it when you exit out of import.

If you have many individual lyrics files:

  1. Make sure all the files you wish to import are in a single folder.
  2. For v5.1: In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import. When the Import window appears, select the tab ‘Import Multiple Files’.
  3. For v5.2+:In easyslides 5 menu, select Tools->Import Databases and Files. When the Import window appears, select the tab ‘Import Multiple Files’.
  4. Click the folder icon at ‘1’ to select the folder which contains all the files you wish to import.
  5. At ‘2’, select the database you wish to import the folder of lyrics into.
  6. Click Import.
  7. You will be informed if the import is successful. Note the imported database name and navigate to it when you exit out of import.
