ParticipantWhat happened to EasySlides?
I used version 4 many years ago and it was quite good.
I just starting using it again after a pause of many years, and version 5 is a disaster.
I’m trying to project bilingual songs (Hebrew in Region 1 on top, English in Region 2 on the bottom).
First, the font size changes randomly on every screen for no apparent reason, and no way to control this.
Second, the top region 1 (Hebrew) has a large blank space below the text (as if there were 4-5 empty lines after it), and I can’t get rid of them.
Also, the documentation/help is quite bad. There seems to be no explanations or solutions available to these problems.
The layout is also very confusing. How do you control the font size and spacing after the text?
I’m seeing some text settings under ‘general settings/show.’
Then there are font settings under ‘database settings.’
There are also font settings under ‘manage schedules’.
Finally, there are also font and layout settings under the preview windows/settings/use individual settings.
It’s extremely confusing, and none of these work! How do I get the font size to remain stable for all songs, and how do I get rid of all the line spacing below region 1?
Thanks

ParticipantHi @jazzbird
I totally agree! I may be experiencing the same thing as you. I have attached screenshots (shared w/ google drive link) of what is going on on our side. Can you confirm if this is what you’re talking about? Pic 1 is the normal font and sizing I formatted our databases, but then Pic 2 is what shows on the last line of the lyrics just before our chorus. The translation in Region 2 that is shown in Pic 2 is much smaller than what it should be as in Region 1. OOORRR sometimes, as you said, i just get a blank slide/line. I hope this gets resolves soon.

Participant*I tried to post a reply with image links but it’s not appearing. It looks like it’s automatically deleted. Here’s an attempted reply without the image links and a single link to a shared folder*

Hi @jmcimsask,
(@wk, are you reading these posts? I’m posting the details below for you.)Yes, basically. Except that my issues are worse.
In my case, I use Region 1 for Hebrew, and Region 2 for both a transliteration and translation.
This used to work fine in EasySlides 4, but no longer in EasySlides 5.To begin with, the “Auto Text Overflow” is a disaster. It randomly breaks up the slide content.
Here’s a song from the ‘edit database item’ window. Due to having both tranliteration and translation, there is more text in Region 2 than in Region 1.The result: The first slide is split up into 5 (!) slides:
Conclusion: “Auto Text Overflow” is totally unusable.
Now, with “Auto Text Overflow” disabled, the text is no longer split up, but both the font size, positioning, and spacing vary wildly, randomly, and uncontrollably.
Even though I have the font set to size 40 (or whatever) in ‘database settings’, and ‘align centre’ set in ‘manage schedules’ (and ‘individual settings’ disabled), the text position of Region 1 is aligned to the top with large blank space below it, and the font size varies wildly from one screen to the other. So it seems that neither the ‘database settings/font size’ nor the ‘manage schedules/align’ settings work at all.
Wai Kuen, hopefully you will read this. I would be grateful for some advice or solution.
