ParticipantIn Easyslides 4, I can easily sync my data between two PCs by simply using a program to sync the EasiSlides folders on the C: drive of both.
One installation is on my laptop for preparing worship service when I am at home. The other installation is on a desktop in the meeting room.
Does anyone know how I can keep the data for EasySlides 5 Beta 4 in sync?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

ParticipantI wanted a similar solution. I run it on multiple computers in our building and like for the database to be synced. Here’s my workaround using a cloud service like dropbox or box:
– Install and run easyslides on computer (When you install and run for the first time, it creates a folder called EasySlidesData in your Documents folder)
– Move EasySlidesData folder into a synced folder with your cloud drive provider (synced folder must auto-download updates to your computer)
– Rerun easyslides
– you will be prompted that your data folder is missing
– click the folder icon to “choose the following folder” navigate to where you just moved your EasySlidesData folder
– Easyslides will now run from the folder you have synced to the cloud
– Install and run easyslides on second computer
– delete newly created EasySlidesData folder
– rerun easyslides
– you will be prompted that your data folder is missing
– click the folder icon to “choose the following folder” navigate your synced EasySlidesData folder on secondary computer (you will either need to be logged into the same cloud service account, or share the folder with a separate account. I’ve done it both ways)This method allows me to update songs in the database and worship schedules from a remote computer that is not used to display the songs during the service
Issues I’ve experienced with this workaround:
– If you have the program open on multiple computers at the same time, or if you open it on one computer before cloud service has synced the folder, your cloud service will duplicate files for your database causing extra worship schedules to be created.
– anytime I add a computer to the mix, the background images for my schedules need to be reset
– when adding a song to the database, you must refresh before it will show in your list (click the dropdown carrot above your song list and click your database again, or close and reopen easyslides)Let me know if you can’t figure it out.

KeymasterHi tonniwei and weldonjd. Thanks for contributing to the forum. easyslides 5 folders works in a similar way to easislides 4, though easislides 4 is on c:\ drive and easyslides 5 is in ‘my documents’. You can still copy database files, or your complete easisldiesdata folder from one installation to another.
In easislides 4 all the folders’ data are kept in one database file. In easyslides 5, each ‘folder’ are actually individual databases. There is now a link option in the Manage database option. So you can put one or more of your databases on a network share and in each of your easyslides installation, just link to the databases held on your shared drive. Of course you need to plan for contingency in case your network goes down and you can’t access the shared database.

ParticipantCool. I saw that option but didn’t play around with it yet. When you link the folder, does it sync “schedules” as well? Thanks.

ParticipantA new optional Uploader feature (which requires an annual £5 subscription via Paypal for user validation purposes – 28day free trial at the start) lets you upload your schedule to easyslides.com with a few clicks. Useful if people are remotely following your LIVE service or for remote home groups as they can see all the lyrics, Bible passages, texts, etc you will be using. Useful also for backup purposes in case of projection equipment failure. The uploaded content will auto delete after 36 hours. To register please visit the Registration page.
