    Hi

Text over video is basically one top window with text, with a transparent background colour, overlaying on top of the Windows Media Player. When you start a media item, the text is displayed, but the video underneath is still being prepared to be played by Windows. Hence you see a black screen (as the video is being loaded up by windows). There is no way round this issue unless your PC is very good spec and can load a video/media very quickly.

If you want, you can email zip and send me your easyslidesdata folder via dropbox or onedrive (send your link to info@easyslides.com). I can then test it on my system.

    Hi.

In v4 the database items are reference by a reference key. So if you had an item on the worship list but then deleted it, even if you create the item again, the reference key will be invalid. Or, you are using a worship list from another system which was referencing a different database.

v4 is very old and you should move to v5 which has a lot of new features.

The schedule could have got corrupted.
    1. Go to the easyslides schedule folder, eg. EasyslidesData\Admin\Schedules
    2. Delete all the files in that Schedules folder (the files are just schedules and none of your database data will be deleted)
    3. Start easyslides 5

    Try the following:-
    – In the EasyslidesData folder navigate to \Admin\UserProfiles
    – Delete the XML file(s) in that folder.
    – Start Easyslides.

    Hi

Easyslides orders the song by their titles and so if the title for the same songs are the same, or similar, they will be listed beside each other. You just have to go through the songs and remove the duplicated ones.

If you find it hard to compare each song lyrics in the easyslides window, and assuming songs duplicated titles are similar, another method is:
    1. Create a new blank database.
    2. At the Booklet pane, add all the lyrics you want to check to a new booklet. All the titles will be listed alphabetically.
    3. Generate the booklet, open it and go through the lyrics to look for duplicated songs and note the song numbers you want to remove
    4. Go back to the booklet panel in easyslides and select all the songs
    5. Hold the control key down and click on the song number you noted to be duplicates from step 3 above.
    6. After you have untick all the duplicates, the only songs selected are the ones you want
    7. Click the copy symbol beside the booklet panel and select the new blank database you had created in step 1. Click OK
    8. The new database will now have the songs with the duplicated ones removed.

Easyslides uses Windows Media Play controls to play media files and so any standalone files which can be played in Windows media Player will play correctly in easyslides. DVDs are not supported though. There are two methods to play a standalone media file:-

    Method 1:
    1. Start easyslides 5.
    2. In Windows open the folder which has the media file you want to use.
    3. Drag the media file from the windows folder into the schedule in easyslides.
    4. Go live to play it.

    Method 2:
    1. Start easyslides 5.
    2. Click the Media tab on the left pane, then click the folder icon at the top of the media pane.
    3. The easyslides media folder will open.
    4. Copy in the media file you want into the media folder.
    5. In easyslides click the “Refresh” button at the top toolbar. This will refresh the media files in the media pane.
    6. Select the desired media file from the listed media files in the media pane and go live.

I am not sure what banner you are referring to. Could you email a screenshot to me please. Thanks.

For each item you can only have one background picture. To set a background for the item, click on the item and then click on one of the images in the middle bottom images pane. When you rotate an item, you are just going through each slide for the one item, so the background will remain the same.

If you want to do an auto-rotating slide show of images, just put all the images you want to display into one individual folder. Then drag and drop that folder onto the schedule. You can edit that slide show item to adjust settings if you want. When that item goes live, the slide show will start.

I am not sure what pop up banner you are referring to!

Sorry to hear about your issues with v5.1. If you had v4 on your PC then you can still run it independently of v5.1. However, v5.1 has been extensively tested by users over 6 months and so bugs will be minimal. Keep trying v5.1 and you will find that it has lots of new features and will work fine. Also, easyslides 5 works much better with windows running on a solid state drive (SSD) rather than a hard drive if you are still on a hard drive.
