    Thanks Wai,
    I’ll give it a go.
Reason for asking we have one song DB where all the songs are syncd to mp3s, which is getting used a lot as we don’t have a lead musician at the moment. The DB is constantly having new songs added to it & I need to keep the service leaders informed of what we have available.

Hi, you could swap the lyrics round, put the curent Region 1 into region 2 & current region 2 into region 1
you would need to paste one set out into notepad, etc first!

Hi WK, thanks for the update.

Not sure if this is related, I have found the “Move” tool isn’t functioning corretly, its working as a copy item to the new location, but not deleting/removing the item from the original folder/location
When I search for a song it now returns 2 results for the song!

    Hi WK,

I think I’ve worked out why I’ve been having problems with the Copy item tool…It is working, but its all to do with which DB folder is open/showing at the top

I was typing or pasting the song title into the search box, then selecting the song, right clicking & then “Copy item”, but the Copy item wasn’t always working,
I worked out that it was because the DB Folder name at the top wasn’t the actual folder the song was in
e.g. Have Folder 1 open, search for a song title, use the “Copy item” to copy to Folder 2, it works.
Swap to Folder 2 (to edit the song), then while still showing Folder 2 search for another song, it will find it, but won’t copy it.
Change back to Folder 1 & search again, this time it copies the song to Folder 2

So that sorts that one out 🙂

    cheers

    Hi,
Does this allow animations within slides to be incorporated?
e.g. words or images being reveiled on a slide/s?

    Thanks Bert,
That works 🙂 & gives option to add further locations
The Batch file I’ve made works slightly differently, it will look to see if the USB drive is present, if it is, it will use that location & launch Easyslides
If it isn’t present, it will use the Default location & launch Easyslides.
I’ve emailed it to info@easyslides.com for Wai to look at.

    Hi HK,
I’ve been testing some ideas over the weekend using batch files & stored copies of the “InitialConfig.xml” that holds the “DataLocation”; I think I have a solution & it was much simpler than I thought was needed, though I did also find 2 other files that include info that is needed to make it truly work from separate EasyslideData folders

Can I PM it to you for checking?

    Hi,
    An update to this question.
I’ve found the xml config file that contains the “<DataLocation>” for the EasyslidesData Folder – it was set to the USB drive (I:\EasysldiesData\)
I edited the xml to change the drive letter to the PCs EasysldiesData folder location (D:)
Then relaunched the program, the EasyslidesData folder location had chanegd to the new location
Next I re-edited the XML back to the USB location (I drive), relaunched Easyslides & again it launched without asking for the DB location & the EasyslidesData folder had changed back to the I drive.

So I now know its possiblr to changr thr EasysldiesData location outside the program, now I need to work out if I can use a Batchfile to amend the xml file then launch Easyslides – can this be done?
    Can I PM anyone?

Thanks for the tip, I hadn’t spotted that nifty feature. 🙂
I see if you have just one image you can you can drag an individual image to the schedule as well (obviuously no timings)
And also videos can be dragged in, so no need to add videos that are only going to be used once to the media folder anymore….fantastic

I think it would be really handy if a list of all the new features was published on the forum, could that be done? Apologises if there is one & I’ve missed it.

    Hi Bryan,
    Yep thats the V4 guides.

Funny enough I’ve just had to add an image file (a flyer). for tomorrow service.
The way I do it is add the image to the “Images” folder (we have our Images folder set up with subfolders for different images – people, crosses, Christmas, etc)
Then I have a couple of items set up in a Song database & Infoscreens, all titled with BLANK FOR IMAGE# (you have to add at least a V1 to the item, but no need to add any text or blank lines)
Add one of these to the Schedule & then add the image to the item.
If more than 1 image required then add another BLANK
    Others may do it differently

Not sure what you mean about older /newer folders. The DBs in ESv4 (1 MS Access DB for all Song folders) are different to ESv5 (1 .db file per song folder “database”),
But when you first install ESv5 it asks if you want to copy ESv4 DBs to the new install & it does it all for you, keeps the same Folder names, etc. I think some settings may be lost.

    hope tha6t helps

    Hi Bryan,
If you have an install of Easislides v4 available, you’ll find it includes a comprehensive help section, much of which, including import/export, still applies in Easyslides v5

There used to be PDFs of each page of the help guide for v4 as well, which I did have, if I can find them I could try & get them to you.

Regarding loading to a new PC, you can copy the “EasyslidesData” folder & sub folders (which contains all the databases, schedules, Bibles, settings, etc) onto a USB drive & then copy that to your documents folder on new PC.
I’ve managed to get Easyslides v5 to use the USB drive as the location for the “EasyslidesData” folder, which allows me to swap it between PCs (home & church) – only problem with this is if the PC doesn’t see the USB drive before Easyslides is loaded, then it wants to create a new “EasyslidesData” folder on the main drive (unless one already exists)

    Hi,
Sorry only just seen your question.
The Rotate options are now on a tab in the LIVE screen section (Clock, Frontpage, Alerts, Data panel, Multicast, Rotate)
There is then a tick box for “Enable Auto Rotate”
then the same options as in Easyslides v4

There is also a setting in the General Settings > Main Window, “Rotate Gap (seconds)”, this seems to control how quickly it automatically moves/rotates onto the neext item at the end of a video, though I found it also repeated the same video, even without selecting “Auto repeat One Item – Repeat”. We have it set to 30 seconds to stop it replaying the same video.
    hope that helps

    JB
